Hammond School is alive and interesting. We provide a caring structure in which children feel safe
and motivated. At any time, in our school, children will be found purposely engaged in learning;
focused on listening; discussing ideas; gaining first hand experiences; asking questions;
researching information; testing hypotheses and much much more! We are striving to achieve the best learning environment that offers a wide variety of opportunities to meet the needs of every individual child.

This is a school that values what is important in the life of a child and their parents. It is our ethos
to know the pupils of the school both academically and socially. We teach, guide, challenge and
nurture our pupils to value themselves and their contributions to their lives.

Children are people who need security, care, friendship and boundaries within which to think for
themselves, test their theories and learn from their mistakes. At the same time gaining skills
and knowledge and developing concepts. Fulfilled, they are led on to learn more and more.

Every child is special and brings with them their personal learning style, talents and interests. We
aim to recognise and extend their specialities.

Over four years at Hammond, children are well taught and given experiences which broaden and
develop character and thinking, enabling them to flourish with confidence and succeed with their
strengths. Children are expected to take responsibility for their actions, understanding that they
have the power to make the right decisions to benefit from their opportunities.

We expect to interact with the children and their families, welcoming the support of the family for
the development of the child.
